Prusa I3 MK3 3D Printer – 3D Model SolidWorks
The MK3 has a new controller called the RAMBo Einsy, which features the biggest update to the machine, and supports a new stepper driver: the Trinamic TMC2130. With these new drivers, the MK3 is able to detect when the motor has stalled or is missing a step. This eliminates the need for a stop; the MK3 simply moves each axis to its end and detects changes in the EMF in the motor coils when the carriage makes contact with the part at the end. This is also used to detect problems during printing. If your part starts to lift and the extruder hits it, the MK3 will pause and alert you, rather than continuing to print a bad part. The Trinamic drivers have also been configured to ensure the machine runs quietly
Instead of stopping to sense due to a collision, the MK3 will also monitor your extruder. Extrusion issues are some of the most common problems that plague 3D printing. The MK3 will monitor your extruder, trying to detect a jam or missing filament, and pause the print if it thinks something is not right, potentially saving your print.
