The concept of the tank can be seen in a cone-shaped armored vehicle in Leonardo da Vinci’s manuscript. It was actually made by a British war correspondent named Avonton. In 1903, the tracked vehicle was invented, mainly as a tractor for agricultural use. At this time, the British also paid attention to this tracked vehicle. Not only did they establish the Luzhou Research Institute in February 1915, but they also purchased two tractors from HOLT for research. At the end of the same year, the institute developed the first armored tracked vehicle called “Little Willy”.
