10 cylinder double row sleeve valve radial engine SW design 3D model, the sleeve drive system of the sleeve valve engine has a pair of drivers that make the sleeve compound motion, which provides improved port opening and closing. One driver uses the first gear driven by the engine to provide eccentric motion to the sleeve through the cam and follower. The other driver uses the second gear driven by the engine to provide a small synchronous rotation to the sleeve through the eccentric pin and the slotted sleeve. One driver allows axial response and does not prevent rotational response to the other driver. The sleeve passage allows a higher and narrower port, which allows the piston ring to be closer to the piston top, and this reduces emissions.
