Russian monster: 3D model of 4-cylinder dual-crank parallel engine, with internal structure, SolidWorks 2012 document sharing, most of the dual-crank engines remain in patent drawings, and very few are actually installed. Only some supercars are equipped with W16 dual-crank engines. The main problems of dual crankshafts are complex structure, large size, and poor operation stability and power output. Let’s study the above Russian’s wonderful design, a piston connected to two connecting rods driving two counter-rotating crankshafts in parallel, and a pair of helical gears to solve the power output and stability. The power of a single cylinder is also improved, but the complexity is still very high. There is a small simulation video in it, which looks like 4 little octopuses jumping up and down when running, very cute! Finally, I have to admire the creativity of the Russians.
